Ford Technician

Qualification Requirements      

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Ford Franchise Dealership
  • Certification must be maintained
  •  Full SA/EU/UK Driving license

Tasks required by this job include:
visually checks, test drives or uses test equipment to diagnose engine and mechanical faults;
removes, dismantles, repairs and replaces defective parts and prepares new parts using appropriate tools;
reassembles, tests, adjusts and tunes the appropriate parts, systems or entire engine;
carries out routine maintenance checks on oil and air filters, brakes and other vehicle parts/systems;
diagnoses faults in electrical/electronic circuitry, removes faulty components and fits replacements;
checks condition of electrical/electronic systems and carries out servicing tasks;
installs additional electrical amenities such as radio/CD players, aerials;
repairs and services air conditioning, heating and engine-cooling systems.

 

General

  • Technician punctuality is paramount. You are required to attend work @ c. 8.45 and be ready to start work at 9.00am.
  • Attendance and rest breaks must be recorded via the Company nominated systems (currently Bright HR).
  • Technicians must have the ability to work on their own initiative & without over reliance on assistance from Supervisors. The technician should have the ability to analyse information and suggest a solution rather than simply requesting assistance.
  • Technicians immediate work area must be kept clean, free and clear of clutter. Obvious health & safety requirements / standards must be maintained within the technicians work area & full use of PPE is mandatory.
  • The technician must take the upmost care of customers property and ensure that all protective measures to prevent damage to customers property are unlisted.
  • The technician must exercise and maintain full attention when operating equipment / driving tractors, giving due consideration for his safety and for all his colleagues i.e. reversing tractors, driving fork lifts or lifts.
  • Technicians will, at all times, work in a professional manner whether in dealing with colleagues, internal or external clients; on site or off site. The technician is a representative of the Company and must act accordingly at all times.
  • The technician must present himself for work in clean Company / Manufacturer branded work wear and ensuring highest levels of personal hygiene.
  • The technician, depending on training and experience, will have his performance measure against Company, Industry or Manufacturer KPIs. It is expected that the Technician will work to high standards, always looking to exceed requirements rather than simply meetexpectations. The Department Manager will conduct regular reviews on performance and measured against agreed targets / objectives.
  • The Technician will attend any & all training courses required by the Company and / or the Manufacturer.
  • Given the nature of the position and its seasonal requirements it is expected that all technicians will facilitate the Company’s customers with out of hours working i.e. late evenings / weekends etc. Wherever possible, the Company will provide as much notice as possible but given the nature of the business this is not always possible i.e. breakdowns.

 

The package on offer: 

€35k - €40k depending on experience & qualifications.
