Job Description

Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 3+ years experience. 
 
Key responsibilities:

• As a Project Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for cost controlling and ensuring budgets are achieved.
• Improve and implement best practice commercial processes and accurate budgeting.
• Managing and forecasting cash flow of a series of projects and the business.
• Actively work with project managers on all live projects, ensuring the business goals are achieved in the best interest of the company.
• Reviewing and commercial management of project to ensure accurate and reliable reporting in line with group policies and highlight expectations to management.
• Management of client relationships from a commercial perspective and ensuring all final accounts are agreed, whilst retaining a business relationship.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations and final accounts. Ensuring payment certifications are processed and payments are made as per subcontract and procurement terms.
• Liaise with the design team throughout the project to ensure project deliverable is achieved in line with risk management procedures.
• Issuing tender queries, preparation of tender reports and letting of subcontract packages.
• Procurement and project management of subcontractors on site – operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the procurement department.
• Support the estimating department in review of quotations at tender stage.
• Dealing with clients/engineers/contractors and ensuring construction team is adhering to all contractual requirements and provide advice and monitoring of same.
• Review all incoming correspondence from employers, design team and subcontractors to identify contractually critical items and initiate replies.
• Reviewing contracts and ensuring compliance with contract programme/schedule and provide weekly reports to construction team on planned versus actual progress.
• Preparing progress applications, cost reports and monthly management accounts.
• Provide data and analysis of issues & risks as required by management.
• Administer contractual obligations and meet additional client requirements. Monthly applications to be all inclusive of accurate measures, site changes, day works and any applicable contract claims.
Pre-contract cost control and management Pre-contract document preparation.  All post contract functions including; interim recommendations, cost reporting, Client meetings, final account reconciliation.  Estimating & Cost Planning Reporting to the Senior surveyor Preparing Bills of Quantities.  Preparing Cost Reports; Preparing Monthly Valuations; Preparation and Agreement of Final Account. 
 
Essential Criteria:
• Minimum 3years+ experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor working on commercial projects with a main building contractor.
• Third level Qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management
• Strong written communication abilities
• Computer literate
• Experience using BuildSoft/Cubit Measurement Software or similar
• Access to own transport

Benefits
Gross Annual Remuneration €50K - €60K (Depending on experience) 
40 hours per week at an hourly rate of €24.03 or €28.85 (subject to experience)
Will cover Work Permit Application Cost. 
Flight costs: Yes 100% - will claw back over 10 weeks wages.
Will assist in finding accommodation - Will pay for the 4 first weeks and will claw back over 10 weeks
First Year Residence Permit Cost €300: Yes, will assist with 1st year cost. 
 
Location: 4 days in Sligo and 1 day at Head Office in Buncrana.
