Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Mechatronic Maintenance Engineer/ Millwright to join their team. The role will provide hands-on technical support for manufacturing operations at our Cork or Buncrana site.

We are looking for a motivated person with good technical knowledge, and excellent problem-solving skills. This is a permanent full-time position and will report to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all engineering activities are carried out in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and always encourages safe working practices.
  • Work continuously to ensure that all scheduled engineering maintenance tasks are actioned.
  • Able to interpret mechanical assembly, Electrical, and pneumatic, drawings and circuits
  • Fault finding, repair, and planned maintenance of factory production machines (position control, temperature control, pneumatic control )
  • Diagnose and repair any faults or failures in a timely manner.
  • Working knowledge of machine components: PLCs, Inverters, stepper motors, relays and contactors, Encoders, proximity sensors, PID temperature controllers, Pneumatic logic valves, pneumatic direction control valves, pneumatic cylinders, bearings 
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement activities for existing equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation and records are kept up to date, as required.
  • Must liaise with external contractors ‘OEM’S’ and suppliers.

 

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 + years’ experience in an automated factory production environment within a maintenance engineering role.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications in an electrical, mechanical, or mechatronic discipline.
  • Must be able to interpret electrical and pneumatic drawings as well and follow machine technical manuals
  • Experience with position control systems, including encoders AC and DC drives and motors, PLC’s, CNC,s etc
  • Experience in pneumatic and electro-pneumatic control systems, including valves, actuators, logic valves, flow regulators, etc.
  • Experience in PID heating control and thermocouples
  • Must be experienced in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of mechanical components.
  • Experience with computers and networking would be an advantage.
  • Must have a good analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to time manage and prioritise tasks.
  • Must be able to manage and source spare parts and equipment.
  • Must be able to work and communicate well with co-workers and management daily.
  • A hard worker who will work well as part of the existing highly motivated team.

Gross Annual Remuneration €40k
40 hours/wk at an hourly rate of €19.23
