Job Description for a Forklift Mechanic / Technician (5223)

We are looking for a mechanic with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge on Diesel, LPG and Electric Forklifts. 

As a qualified forklift technician can you provide technical, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for complex manufacturing equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems. Our client is looking for that skilled professional who repairs, maintains, and services forklifts. Must be able to handle tasks like troubleshooting, replacing parts, and conducting safety inspections. Using tools like hand drills and soldering irons.  You also need to be knowledgeable about safety regulations and paperwork. 

Duties include but not limited to:

Repairs and maintains various types of forklift trucks including electric, gas-powered, and propane-powered.
Tests forklift trucks to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
Schedules and performs routine maintenance for forklift trucks.
Ensures batteries for electric forklift trucks are fully charged.
Carry out service/repairs on diesel, LPG and electric forklifts.

Respond to emergency breakdowns on the road 
Knowledgeable on the thorough assessment and solution to all all types of forklifts 
Have strong understanding and vast experience in diesel engines , transmissions ,hydraulics and AC and DC electric systems 
Committed to a high level of customer service 

Screening Questions:

  • Do you have a minimum of 5 years experience on service and repairs on Diesel, LPG and Electric Forklifts?
  • Do you have a valid SA/EU/UK driver licence?
  • Do you have up to date qualifications?
  • Do you have experience in diesel engines, transmission, hydraulics, and AC/DC electrical systems?
  • Can you communicate in English - spoken, read and write?
  • Are you able to communicate with customers with the priority being providing excellent customer service?
  • Are you computer literate and experienced in dealing with administration?

Benefits:
39 hours per week at an hourly rate of 20.00.
Gross Annual Remuneration €40560.
